For the last 5 years the newest book has come out just before my birthday so my husband knows just what to get me. Funny thing is most years I forget all about it and then I am so excited for my book. I get such a kick out of this series. Each time I get a new book I reread all the books in the series before reading the newest one.The series has Harry Potter like elements with magic and wizards and a young male hero but is not so dark and a very different writing style. There isn't really oneAnother great book in the series by Angie Sage. Septimus, along with his friends, has to overcome obstacles and face fears.I'm a big book listener as opposed to a book reader. That's how I started off on this series. It was definitely different reading a Septimus book on my own, but it was worth it. I'd recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed previous books in the series.Thanks for the giveaway! Loved being one of the first to read your book!

I like this book, #6 in the Septimus Heap series. I like Septimus Heap. I like the crazy concoction of characters that inhabit the Castle and the the world surrounding it. I like the intricacy of the plot and multiple steps required to solve the problem of the story, which in this book is a spreading fog of Darknesse spurred on by that trouble-making apprentice of the deceased Dom Daniel. Having read the first five books of the series earnestly, it was for quite some time that I have been waiting for Darke to come out.I wouldnt say that the long wait was a wasted effort; though the book fell short of expectations.
