Can I be offended by a piece of literature and still give it three stars? Cos I was offended by this. I mean really what was the point of this?The cover of this one made me interested because of it's mix of cheesiness and edge-lord-ness. The story was pretty boring, though.
Lately I've determined that narration (or "telling" rather than "showing") is a Bad Thing in comics - why waste the power of a visual medium? Why irritate the reader with a non-display of what you're trying to convey? Why slow them down when you want to create energy, action and impact?All this is relevant to Supergod, as a way of emphasizing how surprised I was at how well Ellis' narration of this tale worked.I'm also surprised how much I enjoyed the "birth of superhumans" narrative.
