Critique Of Books Sweep: Volume 1 (Wicca #1-3)
Reread from when this was first published in the UK (2001?) via Puffin under the series name of "Wicca", not "Sweep". It hasn't aged well, but is a light, fast beach read.* Write-up taken from The Pewter WolfMorgan Rowlands is an ordinary girl in the small New York state town of Widows Vale. She has a loving family, great friends - till Cal and his mother moves to town. Cal becomes the centre of attention and invites several students to a house warming party - including Morgan and best friend,

I read the Sweep series for the first time last year, around this time. While my husband was away at Basic Training, I finally had peace and quiet to finally read! And it was this series that got me back into reading again. So in that sense, this series will always have a special place in my heart. And besides that, it's a pretty awesome series!I could related a lot to Morgan. I grew up Catholic but I never really thought I fit in there, it just never really felt like it was for me. I was always

----------Book of Shadows:I don't know why I liked this book so much. Oh wait, of course I do! Magick! Withes! Circles! Samhain!I love books about Wicca and witchcraft. I don't know why, but I have always loved that genre. I have always loved witches, and not the Harry Potter kind of witches (even though I love those too), the real, hardcore Wiccan witches!Book of Shadows definitely delivered that and more. Even thought it was extremely short, it set up the characters and the story so well, but

I first read this series when I was about 12, and I ADORED it. It was taken out of my public library due to poor circulation (so sad), so I forgot about it until I came across it on Amazon a little over a year ago. I couldn't find it in any public library system anymore, so I decided on a whim to buy the entire series (which I ended up getting for about 30$). I read the entire series last summer and was blown away. I had completely forgotten the entire thing with the except of Morgan being a

eh wtf did I just read? i was so exctied to read this serie because i loved tiernans other serie. But I got really disapointed, the characters are childish and selfish. I disliked morgan, she was so annoying cause she was so insecure with herself. She was just a plain girl who followed a popular girl. the whole book was soo unrealistic, a new boy make a circle and says that he is a freaking blood witch and everyone accept that anf doesnt think that weird... and Morgan out of the blue starts to

Okay, Cal is shady as hell. I want to like Morgan but she's so naive when it comes to him. I don't like how little answers this book gave though. You'd expect them to at least answer some questions but it's like this series has to be read as one big book.

This review was completed by Amanda Harbin, staff reviewer with the YA Fantasy Guide.Overview of Volume 1:I made a mistake with this book(s). Usually, when I read a series of books I find that it is best to read and review each book as I go, otherwise plots and characters get a little screwy in my head. Well, Im good and screwy on this one because I read the first book, then because I lack any self control whatsoever, I dove right into the second book, then the third, the fourth, the fifthoh yes
