Narrative Concering Books Enkelten verta
Albert Einsteinin väitetään sanoneen, että mikäli mehiläiset häviäisivät maailmasta, ihmislajilla olisi nelisen vuotta elinaikaa jäljellä.On 2010-luvun jälkipuolisko.

Very sad. An interesting mix of blog posts and first-person trains of thought. Most readers could fly through Lola Rogers translation of The Blood of Angels by Finnish author Johanna Sinisalo in a handful of hours. Yet, as the relatively brief enjoyment of a spoonful of honey belies the phenomenal labor of countless bees, so too does consumption of this novels simple, flowing prose hide the rich, complex depth of its construction and significance. Sinisalos novel captures an apocalyptic, large-scale focus on humanity that is typical of speculative fiction, yet keeps a
This is the odd book I picked up by chance, only because the synopsis sounded likely and there was a honeybee in the cover illustration. What good luck!Translated from the Finnish, The Blood of Angels is about a small handful of ideas. The primary one is of Orvo's loss in the death of his son, Eero, and his desire to learn more about who he was. It is also about humans farming animals for food where the bottom line determines how their care, diet, space and slaughter are handled, and the
Wow. This short novel packs a wallop! This is a in the future story of an environmental dystopia following the bees Colony Collapse Disorder. It is also a study of a father's grief with a magical twist. All in all it is not a novel easily summed up! By page 20 you realize this story will not have a happy ending. The story follows a father raising bees as his grandfather had before him and his 17 year old son who is an animal activist. Each chapter has a post from the son's blog and then follows
Wow. ❤
2017 Reading challenge: a book by an author from a country you've never visited
This was my first from the works of Sinisalo. I liked her style and the narrator's voice, enjoyed the story that was unique to say the least, and appreciated the air of mystery around the happenings of the story - in the end, I'm almost not sure I understood what happened, but that's perfectly fine.I also appreciated the way the story evolved around the characters and not science - I feared beforehand that we would follow Orvo to some research facility and try to discover the mystery of the
