This is a bit ranty, at tad spiolery, and more than a little long. You have been warned. I have read a book. By all accounts, it was a bad book (horrible, inconceivably horrible) riddled with plot holes the size of Dalek battle fleet. That is not my problem (48% of problem). A great introduction to a promising paranormal series.
First of all, I would like to apologise to fellow Goodread reviewers if I go over some points that you have already mentioned - to me it indicates that there are a lot of things in this book that drew readers attention for similar reason. My family often makes fun of me because I have tendency to make lists I suppose, as I work in R&D, it comes from writing a lot of technical reports, procedures and instructions.
