I really enjoyed this one - a bit different than the standard formula, as the villian wasn't a vampire and the heroine was blind. Still, a very sweet love story amidst the drama, and a colorful cast of characters with some interesting secrets of their own.The first time I read this book, 10th book in the Dark Seriesalthough you wont find any hideous vampires fighting the Carpathians but shape-shifters instead. I couldnt make up my mind if I liked the book or not. Very interesting book, completely different from the previous books in the series! Probably because Byron isn't a hunter as all the others and Antonietta.... well, she got her own share of an other creature in her blood and also the fact of being older, blind, had romances and not so perfect as all the other heroines. This was different from the other books in the series because the heroine was blind, she was part shifter and she was given the choice of conversion by her lifemate. What I found interesting about this one was her family.I thought it was well done how they all seemed so unlovable at first, and then you slowly unravel their layers and see that there's much more to them than that. By the end of the book, I was pretty fond of them.
I dont approach the Carpathian books like most series Im into. I enjoy the storyline, but find the sequels can be repetitive.
