Relation To Books The Endless Forest (Wilderness #6)

With a master storyteller’s skill and a historian’s precision, Sara Donati has delighted readers and critics alike with her bestselling novels of the nineteenth-century New York frontier. Now she brings us The Endless Forest, set in the remote village of Paradise, where the Bonner family that readers first met in Into the Wilderness make their home.

The spring of 1824 is a challenging one for the inhabitants of Paradise N.Y. when a flood devastates the village. But for Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bonner, it’s also a time of reunion as their children return from far-off places: Lily and her husband from Italy, and Martha Kirby, the Bonners’ ward, from Manhattan. Although Lily is nursing her own grief, it is Martha, fleeing a crushing humiliation, who brings with her trouble that will reverberate in all their lives.

In the sudden peace that follows the storm, as families struggle to rebuild, childhood friends Martha and Daniel, Lily’s twin brother, suddenly begin to see each other in a new light. But their growing bond is threatened when Martha’s mother arrives back in Paradise a decade after abandoning her daughter. Jemima Southern is a dangerous schemer who has destroyed more than one family, and her anger touches everyone, as do her secrets. Has Jemima come to claim her daughter–or does she have something else in mind? Whatever happens, Martha and Daniel and all the Bonners must stand united against the threats to both heart and home.

Painful secrets and hidden sorrows, joy, heartbreak, and passion follow the Bonners through a season of change and renewal. A rich, passionate, multilayered portrayal of family strength and endurance in a fascinating place and time, The Endless Forest will be remembered long after the last page is turned.

Appraise Regarding Books The Endless Forest (Wilderness #6)
I was very disappointed in this book. Queen of swords was excellent in this series so I was excited to have the next adventure. This book was long, boring, full of sex and ridiculous filler. The book is 600+ pages and Id say the epilogue was the best part. She could have skipped this book completely tagged the epilogue to Queen of swords and moved right onto The Gilded Hour. Not worth the time I spent reading this one. Glad it is finally over.

I loved this series, I'm so sad I'm finished with it. This is hands down one of my favorite all time book series.

4.5 stars

Really enjoyed the whole series and especially the development of characters. The environment and village itself become characters relevant to the story line. The characters travel to other places but ultimately are rooted and nurtured in Paradise. This is the last in the series and the way it concluded left me pleased and satisfied. Having the conclusion be in the form of newspaper articles was quite clever.

What a finish!!! At least I am assuming this is the last in the series. All the loose ends were tied up in the last few pages and in such a unique way. When our library acquired Queen of Swords and paperbacks of all the previous books in the series, I knew it was time to reread the whole set, especially since I had been waiting to read the 'Fire' one. Two weeks and many late nights later,I was finished with all that had been published so far and waiting for 'Forest'. This week it came to the

Great series - almost sorry to be finished with it. I like the way it using newspaper entries to take it into the future and in that way put closure to most of the characters. Anyone that likes Outlander should like this. Plenty of depth in the characters, of which there are many. There are lots of strong women characters.

This is a great series, and much more than a "knockoff" (or fan fiction) of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I admit I was put off by the mention of Red Jamie and the White Witch in the first one (Into the Wilderness) and wondered if I would enjoy this series, despite it's relatable characters and strong story. After six books (a couple in the middle were a tad less interesting, I admit), I really loved the last two in the series, including this one. She writes well, with loving historical
