Ughh, I'm still a little hung over from this trilogy! I picked up the first book and was so absorbed by it that two days later I had finished all three and was left with too many emotions that hadn't had enough time to escape!
Result: Dance party in my room and a review. Enjoy!

I really liked these books as a whole. They had a fast enough pace that they kept my attention really well and made it very easy not to get distracted. Hence my three days of being a hermit...

The first book, the Selection, was just a fun and easy read that left me intrigued. It still had it's faults in that it was a bit petty, but overall I liked it.

The second however, was much less enjoyable. It was frustrating how much indecision there was and lack of loyalty on America's part that it led me to develop a mild disliking of her, making it an uncomfortable read ot times. I will give it credit, though, in that it still managed to hold my attention, even if it was only because I was desperate for America to straighten up and settle down.

The third in the trilogy was able to redeemed itself in that America was more desicive and I was again rooting for her. It was less predictable than the first two were, and though it still had its painful moments, it was a better brand of pain...

I would recommend the Selection series if you're into chick flicks and love triangles and that sort of thing. If you're not, thanks for your time anyway!

"Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway. Kiera Cass, The One" The selection series

I really enjoyed these series, I read all three of them in under a week. I loved the character development between all the characters, except Aspin, he was dull and an obstacle, same with the King, I thought he was a mean bully of a nuisance! Sometimes America got on my nerves but she's better than some other female heriones I have read about it. I overall really enjoyed this series!

Read the first three in less than 48 hrs. I was hooked from Chapter 1. Best way to describe the books is they are a mix of Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. The books keep up a quick pace and most definitely keep you guessing on character development, even though you know the ending. Its predictable, but well written and there are a few curve balls thrown in.

I love this series. Maxon and Queen Amberly are definitely my favorite characters. These books reminded me of a reality show which is actually entertaining. At the start of the selection America was a heartbroken indecisive person but towards the end she gained confidence. Towards the end Celeste grew on me she seemed like a great friend to America. I was never really fond of Kriss. If the rebels wouldn't have attacked Maxon would've never told America how he really felt about her in the end and

A very quick read but not much substance. It's a combination of a very toned-down Hunger Games and The Bachelor. Fun to read in between my other books. Third book is just out and called "The One."

****I rated The Selection Series as a whole at 4 stars for the following reasons:The characters were beautifully flawed in that despite America having an opportunity to have everything she still thought about giving it up for the true love of her life or that Celeste was defined by her caste and resigned herself to that. America was an amazing portrayal of what I think a real feminist character should look like at least in books one through three. She didn't rely on the prince to save her nor
