I have to say that I was charmed and endeared by these little creatures. I am not surprised that this author has won so many awards. They are well deserved. The way the author was able to intermingle the bonding of aliens with humans made me think of ET.You will find yourself enjoying the interaction of all the characters, whether they be of the human species, or the alien form. This is a book that will cross many boundaries, including age and genre.I am looking forward to reading more of thisI love this beautifully written series of three books. An abused woman finds an injured alien who appears to have forgotten why he was on Earth.The story was so touching and magical until real life with its horrors finds them. In the third book the missing offspring (Echo) that has been hiding for fear of humans makes contact 100 years later, vowing to carry on the original mission. I absolutely LOVE this series, so when I found out the author was combining her books into an anthology, I jumped at the chance to get a copy!"Baby" is the first book and introduces us to Netty, Wil and Baby. I read this collection in couple of afternoons. It has something that did make me turn the pages compulsively, despite the terror and the graphic images pictured in it.I loved the story! I will definitely complete the series and buy the other three books I miss. Ms Accinni has style and managed to create a frightening futuristic scenario.
One of my favorite reads is about Aliens .I was happy I found this in a free offer and looked forward to reading all three. Boy, was I surprised. No blood thirsty aliens here. Only a furry dying one that has given birth and forgotten why it was sent to Earth. The offspring has done a disappearing act. Until book two that is. It's all here. Everything a reader wants. Love, family, human evil, laughter, tenderness, horror and tears and did I mention the blindsides??. A beautifully written
I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of science fiction nor of dystopian fantasy. However, having reviewed this book I can honestly say that I was engrossed by this series. It worked for me because the fantasy is described in such realistic terns that it becomes believable, well almost!I enjoyed reading about Nettys world as she encounters Baby and if Ms Accinni didnt write fantasy, she would be equally good at historical fiction. I have been a sci-fi/fantasy fan since I was a kid and Alien Species didnt disappoint! J.K. Accinnis writing draws you into the story and keeps you spellbound until the very last word. This is a great story of good vs. evil, with a bit of political and controversial commentary mixed in for good measure.If you are looking for a book that will entertain as well as enthrall, this is your story. If you want to be challenged emotionally with action, suspense, anger and hate, you will find it all
