Thunderlight (The Dragonian #2)
All this may seem like old news, but for seventeen year-old Elena Watkins the world of Paegeia is not finished revealing all its secrets. During a summer break intended for relaxation, she discovers that her harrowing adventure to retrieve the King of Lion sword wasn’t the destiny foretold by the cryptic Viden, a dragon with the ability to see a person’s true fate. The words inked onto the page of the mysterious Book of Shadows remains black and Elena must return to Dragonia Academy to discover their true meaning.
Upon her return to the magnificent castle she has to face a challenge of a different kind, keeping her boyfriend Lucian McKenzie, the Prince of Tith and love of her life, away from the dangerous new student, Paul Sutton. As a Wyvern, Paul has made it his mission to claim Elena as his rider but he is proving to be more perilous than at first glance.
Everyone knew that Wyverns were bad news, and just as evil as the darkness that lurked inside Blake Leaf, the Rubicon forced to fight against his inner nature every day. But Elena can see a small light lurking in the darkness, a destiny still unfulfilled; to prove that Wyverns can be claimed.
Will Lucian’s dark secret about Wyverns and Elena’s need to prove their true nature cause their love to be torn apart? And which of Elena’s friends will be sacrificed this time if she is wrong?
Thunderlight. Now I understand the name. When I first started reading the series, I thought it was allmcliche and prdictable. I liked it for the same reason I like fan fiction - I get to experience beloved characters in a new situation though the author has stopped writing the original series. Firebolt and Thinderlight reminded me very much of Harry Potter combined with several other beloved fandoms. And dragons. It was pretty cool, but not very original. One of the events near the end of this
I think the biggest problem with this book is that when Lucian was killed, I did not even care. I mean it was sad, but I as a reader had zero connection with him and the relationship was so painfully shallow that my first reaction was - FINALLY we can move forward to the actual story and relationship since this flimsy crap so far was clearly never meant to last. Sorry, but while I am interested enough to see what happens, I pretty much feel like I guessed it all in my initial review of the first
FAN-freaking-TASTIC!!!Okay so I would like to start with how much I anticipated reading this book. Ever since I read the first in the series, Firebolt, I have obsessed over the continuation of the story. And let me just say, it sure as ever did not disappoint. (I read it a second time right after I finished) :)Elena came back as the ideal heroine, having accepted her dragonian side and embraced her destiny. Right off the bat, we are thrown into action with a little swoon worthy saving from our
I wish I could rate this book twice. I really enjoyed the story, but I had a problem while reading it. This may be a problem with where I got the book more so than the book itself, though. I don't know. It was purchased from Amazon and has all kinds of grammatical errors. This made it very challenging to read and or take seriously at certain points. Has anyone else had this problem? As for the story...I liked it and found myself addicted to reading it. Once I started, I found it challenging to
I received this ARC from the gracious Adrienne Woods in return for an honest review. If you're looking for an epic adventure, with dragons, magic, war and romance then I highly recommend this book-a mix of Percy Jackson meets Eragon is the best way I can describe it. It surpassed all my expectations for this series, and the twist at the end...WOW. The plot, characters, themes, world-building...everything...was just superb. This book was action-packed from the start, it was paced perfectly and the
while I enjoy this world and the characters...there were quite a few times where I wanted to shake each of them and just say what are you doing? I felt that the characters didn't grow into who I thought they would be in the second book. I am still invested in the story and look forward to seeing where it goes I just hope for more growth within the characters especially Elena. I want her to be the strong brave character I know she is. I also want Blake to set up in a big way, I felt that he was
